Hi all! Jennifer Evans who is also a member of Smash*aholics on FB sent me some yummy ephemera to use in my Smash book, the deal was she would send it but we had to use it and post photos. I am just now getting around to posting the photos of what I did with the wonderful goodies she sent. I chose the vintage epehemera and I am glad I did. I had a lot of fun looking through all the goodies she sent and this is what I did with it.

Hi crafty friends! I must have gone Smash* crazy! Brian just ordered me the green Eco one and the Simple orange books. I now need the Mod black and white Wedding books.
So here is the large purple Smash book that I received in the mail yesterday along with the accessories. There was a deal if you bought the book it came with these accessories and the price was around $27 so I couldn't pass it up. The black/white polka dotted band actually holds 6 pens so I'm happy with that!
I am also sharing photos of my new paper, chipboard shapes, Amy Tangerine stamp and some cute tape and stickers I picked up to use in my Smash book.
I think I am going to use this purple one to store my crochet patterns and photos of my projects in.

so I've been trying to make a granny square for a while. My mother-in-law said that since I can crochet flowers I should be able to crochet a granny square because they are simple and for beginners. Heck, until a couple days ago I couldn't read a crochet patter and then I picked up my mom's book from the early 80's and made a couple of daisies and a couple of doilies.
So here is my first attempt at a granny square and even though it looks rather funky I think it has some character.
Well, back to the drawing board and I finally got it right! Here is my correct granny square:
I tried following the pattern in the book but couldn't quite get it and then I went to The Crochet Crowd and watched Mikey's video and I couldn't believe how easy it was!
